Julius Randle led the Timberwolves with 29 points (13-of-18 FGs), eight rebounds, five assists, two three-pointers and five turnovers in a 121-110 win over the Warriors in Game 5 on Wednesday.
Randle played at a high level in the first round, but he was dominant in the gentlemen’s sweep of the Warriors. He struggled in Game 1, which Minnesota dropped, but during the final four games of the series, Randle averaged 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists, one steal and two triples while making 55.7 percent of his shots. Turnovers were still an issue, but they didn’t prevent the Timberwolves for winning four straight games. They’ll now await the winner of the Thunder-Nuggets series, and if Randle continues to play like this, Minnesota will have a chance to make the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Thunder have waived Colby Jones after acquiring him from the Wizards for Dillon Jones and a future second-round pick.
The 34th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Jones began his NBA career with the Kings before being traded to Washington at the February deadline. He only appeared in 15 games for the Wizards, averaging 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 25.7 minutes. With Oklahoma City waiving Jones, he’ll be an unrestricted free agent after he clears waivers.
Betting Under on Flagg's PPG is 'only way to look'
After the Mavericks added generational talent Cooper Flagg in the 2025 NBA Draft, Drew Dinsick and Trysta Krick assess whether it's worth betting Over or Under on his rookie year points per game.
  • WAS Small Forward #3
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Thunder have traded Dillon Jones and a future second-round pick to the Wizards for Colby Jones.
The 26th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Jones is on the move after one season with the NBA champions. He appeared in 54 games during the regular season, averaging 2.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 10.2 minutes. Being traded to Washington may give Jones a better shot at achieving fantasy relevance than in Oklahoma City. However, that is not enough to make him a player worth selecting in fantasy drafts.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #17
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Garrett Temple intends to sign a one-year, $3.6 million deal to remain with the Raptors.
The 39-year-old Temple said at the end of the Raptors’ season that he wanted to keep playing. He’ll do so with the Raptors for a third consecutive season. Temple only played in 28 games in 2024-25, but he has been an essential figure for the rebuilding Raptors within the locker room. However, he won’t impact fantasy basketball next season.
  • MIL Point Guard #3
According to The Athletic, Kevin Porter Jr. has informed the Bucks that he will decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent.
Traded to Milwaukee at the February deadline, Porter had his moments during the regular season and the Bucks’ first-round series against the Pacers. His option for the 2025-26 season would have paid Porter $2.5 million, so the decision to test the open market is not a surprise. With Damian Lillard (Achilles) set to miss most of next season, if not all of it, and Ryan Rollins being a restricted free agent, the Bucks have a clear need at point guard. However, they don’t have much money to spend in free agency.
  • LAC Small Forward #33
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Nicolas Batum will decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent.
Batum’s option for the 2025-26 season was worth $4.9 million. While there’s likely to be interest in the veteran forward among teams with postseason ambitions, Batum is not guaranteed to leave the Clippers. According to Charania, Batum and the Clippers have a mutual interest in agreeing to a new deal.
  • FA Center #13
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, the Nuggets will release PJ Hall.
On a two-way contract last season, Hall appeared in 19 games as a rookie. The former Nuggets center averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 3.5 minutes per game. Releasing Hall opens up a two-way contract slot for the Nuggets.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #5
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the 76ers have tendered a qualifying offer to Quentin Grimes.
With it being reported earlier in June by NBA insider Marc Stein that re-signing Grimes is a priority for the 76ers, Saturday’s development was expected. Tendering a qualifying offer to the guard, acquired from the Mavericks at the February trade deadline, makes him a restricted free agent when free agency opens on Monday. While the 2024-25 season was a significant disappointment for Philadelphia, Grimes’ play was one of the few bright spots. As part of a healthy rotation, he’ll have a low fantasy ceiling, but Grimes should still be worth a look in deeper leagues.
  • DEN Point Guard #4
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, the Nuggets have signed Reece Beekman to a Summer League contract.
One day after it was reported the Nuggets would not retain Trey Alexander, they will reportedly use Summer League to evaluate another guard with prior NBA experience. Beekman began last season with the Warriors before being traded to Brooklyn as part of the Dennis Schröder transaction in mid-December. The former Virginia standout appeared in 34 games for the Nets, averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 13.7 minutes.
  • GSW Power Forward #00
Spotrac’s Keith Smith reports the Warriors extended a qualifying offer to Jonathan Kuminga.
The Warriors extending a qualifying offer to Kuminga means he’ll be a restricted free agent when free agency opens on Monday. That allows the team to match an offer sheet he may sign with another team. A sign-and-trade would also be possible for the Warriors if the price required to re-sign Kuminga is too high for their taste. While Kuminga had his moments with the Warriors, he has been unable to carve out the role that would make him a consistent factor in fantasy basketball.
  • POR Shooting Guard #21
Blazers exercised the $2.2 million team option for Rayan Rupert.
The 2023 second-round pick has flashed some upside throughout his first two seasons in the NBA, but he hasn’t seen the floor much. At 21 years old, Rupert still has plenty of time to figure things out, but it is unlikely that his place in the rotation changes next season. He’ll become a restricted free agent next summer.
