Alex Caruso tallied 11 points (5-of-7 FTs), three assists, three steals and one three-pointer in 26 minutes in Sunday’s Game 7 win over the Nuggets.

Caruso was one of the “game changers” in Game 7, as the decision to have him defend Nikola Jokic shifted momentum in Oklahoma City’s favor. The veteran guard did not record any rebounds, but he made the most of his scoring opportunities and was responsible for three steals. How the Thunder use Caruso in the Western Conference Finals remains to be seen, but he’ll have a crucial role off the bench. The Thunder host Minnesota in Game 1 on Tuesday.

Chet Holmgren finished Sunday’s Game 7 win over the Nuggets with 13 points (4-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot in 28 minutes.

Holmgren hit double digits in rebounds in five games this series, recording four double-doubles. While he missed all three of his three-point attempts in Game 7, the second-year forward/center filled the stat sheet otherwise. Holmgren will face a far different defensive challenge in the Western Conference Finals, as Minnesota’s Julius Randle is a more skilled offensive talent than Denver’s Aaron Gordon. Game 1 of the series is on Tuesday night.

Jalen Williams amassed 24 points (10-of-17 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, seven assists, one steal and two three-pointers in 33 minutes in Sunday’s Game 7 win over the Nuggets.

After playing poorly in Oklahoma City’s Game 6 defeat on Thursday, Williams shouldered the blame for the result. He struggled in this series, so it had to feel great to play as well as he did on Sunday. Williams shot over 50 percent from the field and finished one blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. He’ll need to be more consistent in the Western Conference Finals if the Thunder are to advance past the Timberwolves, who visit Oklahoma City for Game 1 on Tuesday.

OKC Point Guard #2

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shot 12-of-19 from the field and 8-of-9 from the foul line in Sunday’s Game 7 victory over the Nuggets, scoring 35 points with three rebounds, four assists, three steals, one block and three three-pointers in 36 minutes.

After scoring 32 points in Game 6, Gilgeous-Alexander was three better in Sunday’s decisive Game 7. Scoring efficiently, the Thunder star leads the league with seven games of 30 points or more in these playoffs. Gilgeous-Alexander will look to add to his tally when the Thunder host the Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday.

Jalen Williams turned in a full line on Thursday with six points (3-of-16 FGs), seven rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and one block in Game 6 against the Nuggets.

JDub was able to contribute a well-rounded stat line, but he wasn’t able to have much success as a scorer. That has been the story for most of this series; Williams was great in Game 3 and was efficient in Game 2, though they didn’t need him to score much in that blowout win. However, between Games 1, 4, 5 and 6, Williams has shot below 40 percent from the field in each of them and below 30 percent in three of them. He has continued to find other ways to impact the game, but what they truly need is a better scoring performance out of him in Game 7 on Sunday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

OKC Point Guard #2

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 32 points (11-of-16 FGs, 8-of-11 FTs), three rebounds, six assists and two three-pointers in a 119-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 6 on Thursday.

SGA carried the offensive load for OKC once again in this game, but he didn’t get much help from his teammates. Gilgeous-Alexander has been unstoppable for most of this series, outside of Game 3. He has scored at least 30 points in four of the six games in this series, and this was his highest-scoring performance in Denver this season. They’ll return home for Game 7 on Sunday. In a matchup between the two MVP candidates, expect SGA to be aggressive early on and have a monster performance.

Chet Holmgren recorded a double-double on Thursday with 19 points (8-of-14 FGs), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Game 6 against the Nuggets.

Holmgren finished with a double-double for the third time this series, but it wasn’t enough for the Thunder to get the win and advance to the conference finals. The box score numbers were mostly strong, though he did shoot just 1-of-3 from the free throw line for a second straight game. They’ll get a couple days off before Game 7 in Oklahoma City on Sunday. Holmgren will need to continue to play well, but his main job will be trying to slow down Nikola Jokic.
Luguentz Dort

OKC Shooting Guard #5

Luguentz Dort came up big for the Thunder in their win over the Nuggets on Tuesday, finishing with 12 points (4-of-8 FGs), three rebounds, one assist and four three-pointers.

Well-known for his prowess on the defensive end, Dort’s offensive eruption in the fourth quarter helped the Thunder climb from out of a big hole to secure a come-from-behind win and move Oklahoma City one win closer to a trip to the conference finals. His three triples in the final frame were huge, but a late assist on a Jalen Williams three might have been the play that delivered the Thunder the victory. Dort’s double-digit outing marked his third of the series, and Oklahoma City would welcome another as it tries to close out the series on Thursday in Game 6.

Jalen Williams was impressive for the Thunder on Tuesday, posting 18 points (5-of-14 FGs, 6-8 FTs), nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers in the win over the Nuggets.

Williams landed in double figures in scoring for the fifth time in as many games this series. While he continued to struggle with shooting efficiency, he remained impactful as a facilitator. The fourth-year wing also delivered one of the biggest shots of Game 5 as he sank a corner three-pointer late in the fourth quarter to give Oklahoma City a lead it wouldn’t surrender the rest of the way. Williams will continue to be relied upon when the Thunder head to Denver for a chance to close out the Nuggets in Game 6 on Thursday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied 31 points (12-of-23 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), six rebounds, seven assists, two steals, two blocks and one three-pointer in the Thunder’s Game 5 win over the Nuggets on Tuesday.

Gilgeous-Alexander did it all for the Thunder on Tuesday, taking on the roles of scorer and facilitator while remaining active on the defensive end along the way. Most importantly, he was key in the final handful of blows that Oklahoma City dealt Denver down the stretch in what ended up being a dominant 34-19 fourth quarter for the Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander, an MVP finalist, delivered his third 30-point game of the series and will have a chance on Thursday to produce his fourth as the Thunder try to eliminate the Nuggets.
