Tarik Skubal will have his next start pushed back to Friday against the Cubs.
It’s a tough break for fantasy managers as Skubal was originally slated to face the White Sox on Thursday afternoon. It’ll be Casey Mize drawing that starting assignment instead. He’ll get a home outing on Friday instead with an extra day of rest. The 28-year-old fantasy ace has reeled off 16 consecutive scoreless frames over his last two starts against the Royals and Guardians, respectiely.

Wilyer Abreu, out since June 9 with an oblique strain, was sent to Triple-A Worcester to begin a rehab assignment.
Abreu is eligible to return Thursday, and it looks like he’ll be ready then. With Rafael Devers gone, the Red Sox will likely give Roman Anthony a lot of DH time, with Jarren Duran also occasionally occupying the spot. Abreu will resume his platoon with Rob Refsnyder.
Angels' Neto a top-10 fantasy shortstop
James Schiano dives into Zach Neto's improved hitting prowess for the Los Angeles Angels and explain how he could be a top-10 fantasy shortstop or better for the rest of 2025
  • ATL Left Fielder #7
Jurickson Profar is slated to begin playing in Triple-A games Tuesday ahead of his PED suspension ending July 2.
Whether they want him or not, the Braves will be getting Profar back in just a couple of weeks (since it’s a firm 80-game suspension, the date could be pushed back if any Braves games get postponed). Alex Verdugo hasn’t been any good, so Profar, who is in the first season of a three-year, $42 million contract, figures to take over as the left fielder against right-handers, at least initially. He’ll be ineligible to participate in the postseason if the Braves get it together and make a run in the second half.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #60
Orioles optioned RHP Colin Selby to Triple-A Norfolk.
Selby pitched two scoreless innings last night after being recalled earlier in the day. Since that means he’ll be unavailable for at least one day, back down to Triple-A he goes.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #86
Orioles recalled LHP Grant Wolfram from Triple-A Norfolk.
Wolfram will begin a third stint in the majors, though it’s unclear if this one will last any longer than the others. He was up with the Brewers for one day in April, didn’t pitch and was then DFA’d and sent to Baltimore. He made two appearances for the Orioles later that month, giving up two runs in 1 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old has a 5.01 ERA in 23 1/3 innings of relief work in Triple-A this year.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #60
Adam Mazur has joined the Marlins and could make a start this week.
The 24-year-old has yet to be added to the roster, but the Marlins might want him to start Wednesday against the Phillies. It’d be his debut for Miami. Mazur started eight games for the Padres last year before being included in the Tanner Scott trade. but he’s been stuck in the minors since. He has a 3.62 ERA and a 55/16 K/BB in 59 2/3 innings for Triple-A Jacksonville this season.
  • MIN Center Fielder
Walker Jenkins, who suffered a sprained ankle in early April, has rejoined Double-A Wichita following the conclusion of a rehab assignment with Low-A Fort Myers.
Jenkins went 7-for-25 with a homer and two steals in eight games for the Mighty Mussels. Now the 2023 first-round pick is back where he belongs with the Wind Surge. There’s a good chance he’ll spend the rest of the year in Double-A, but if he excels, perhaps a promotion to Triple-A will come.
  • MIL Left Fielder #5
Garrett Mitchell will start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
Mitchell could return this weekend or early next week after missing nearly two months with an oblique strain. Isaac Collins, who has been playing pretty regularly in the Milwaukee outfield lately, will lose at-bats.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #19
Will Vest appears likely to avoid the injured list after leaving Sunday’s game with a finger problem.
“I’m expecting to have him available in some capacity and not go on the injured list,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said on MLB Network Radio. “Things can always change if we get more information. But so far, so good.” If Vest does wind up experiencing a setback, Tommy Kahnle would be in line for more save chances.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #44
Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in a scoreless inning against the Mariners on Monday while picking up a save.
What year is it? Chapman continues to throw the baseball past hitters, and he needed just 13 pitches to mow down the Seattle order while picking up his 13th save. Two of those offerings were clocked above 100 mph, and he lowered his ERA to 1.50 in the process.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #54
Lucas Giolito impressed Monday in a win over the Mariners while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings.
This was vintage Giolito, with help by a vintage Seattle Mariner offensive performance. The 30-year-old was able to procure 18 swings-and-misses on 91 pitches, and all three hits allowed were singles. In fact, all three knocks came back-to-back-to-back in the third inning, and Giolito struck out the next three hitters he faced, including Cal Raleigh to end the threat. That’s back-to-back impressive outings for Giolito to lower his ERA from 6.42 to 4.73. He’ll take on the Giants in San Francisco next week while squaring off against former teammate Rafael Devers.
